Christmas is just around the corner – an opportunity for us to think about those for whom a healthy life does not come easy. This year, instead of Christmas presents, we are once again donating on behalf of our customers and our employees to the Björn Schulz Stiftung in Berlin. Yesterday on St. Nicholas Day, Thomas Christiansen, CEO of BKP Berolina, was able to present a symbolic check to Edzard von Wedel, fundraising manager of the Björn Schulz Stiftung, in the “Sonnenhof” children’s hospice.
During a tour of the foundation’s premises, we were particularly impressed by the dedication of the employees and the opportunities that are made available to the terminally ill children. Not to be forgotten are the relatives, especially parents and siblings, who can be given enormous support and relief in their often difficult everyday lives. We were particularly impressed by the fact that in “Sonnenhof” it is not death that plays the overriding role, but rather life – however long it may last.
We would like to thank all of the foundation’s employees and volunteers. For you, it’s not just about accompanying children with life-limiting illnesses to their death, but also about filling time with life, dignity, fun and a smile on your lips. What you do cannot be described in words. Many many thanks! Would you also like to donate?
