Velten / Heidelberg, Germany – BKP Berolina Polyester GmbH & Co. KG (BKP), a subsidiary of United Felts and a leading manufacturer of advanced composite and UV cured-in-place pipe (UV CIPP) liner technology, has been recognized as a TOP 100 Innovator at the German Mittelstand Summit, one of the country’s most prestigious awards honoring innovation among medium-sized companies.
The TOP 100 competition evaluates companies against more than 100 criteria, recognizing organizations that distinguish themselves through systematic innovation management, a strong culture of continuous improvement, and the successful development of market-leading technologies.
Central to BKP Berolina’s recognition were its long-standing commitment to continuous improvement and the development of its CarboSeal district heating liner. Launched in 2021, this unique solution uses a carbon fiber and epoxy resin liner for the trenchless rehabilitation of district heating pipelines in a process that minimizes environmental disruption and can reduce CO₂ emissions up to 90 percent. By transferring decades of trenchless rehabilitation expertise to an entirely new infrastructure sector, BKP Berolina demonstrated how innovation can emerge from practical experience and engineering excellence.
