Pipe coating: Marco Warkotz-Gruber about coordinating his work from home

About usPipe coatingMarco Warkotz-Gruber Homeoffice COVID-19

Especially for our sales team, everyday work has changed drastically in the past weeks as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our sales manager for GRP pipe coating Marco Warkotz-Gruber, who usually travels at least three days a week on business trips, would like to describe his new day-to-day work life from his home office near Hanover.

“The time that I usually invest in visiting customers or spending in the car has now been used primarily by phone and on the computer. Time does not stand still, on the contrary: new orders and inquiries are received for our pipe coating, internal tests are carried out as before, and our production employees in Velten manage the current projects in three shifts as per strict compliance with the safety regulations. In addition, I develop international contacts and do further training via an online seminar.

The current situation is of course also a challenge for my family. I look after my two children with their schoolwork and of course I am also asked for them as a contact person. It sometimes happens that my daughter bursts loudly into the telephone or video conference.

Although customer contact works wonderfully over the phone, I prefer direct conversation. I hope that it will be possible to get in contact face-to-face again in the foreseeable future. In this very complex situation, extensive exercise in the fresh air is beneficial for our minds. Otherwise: stay home, stay healthy and make the most of the situation! ”
